Nothing But L.O.V.E. on Oscar night

While we normally sit at home all dolled up in our finest dress and heels to watch the Oscars, (what? We’re sure we’re not alone!), we couldn’t pass on the 1st annual To Oscar with LOVE charity dinner at the Eglinton Grand.
Sandwiched between CBC’s Jian Ghomeshi and those three handsome Designer Guys, we couldn’t help but laugh out loud through host Carla Collins’s hilarious opening speech before the main event. Imagine a room of 200 guests gasping in unison when Angelina Jolie flashed a smile as Jennifer Aniston was on stage with Jack Black, which we watched on several big screens throughout the room. (Other moments that had us in stitches: Hugh Jackman admitting to not seeing The Reader, the Seth Rogan/James Franco skit and the adorable acceptance speech for Best Foreign Language Film.)

The event raised money for Leave Out Violence (please go to leaveoutviolence.com to read the tear-inducing story of the charity’s beginnings) and while we were waiting for our entrées, guests who purchased tickets clamoured to get in to a swag lounge almost as glamourous as the one down in Hollywood—it was packed with gifts from the Bay, Joe Fresh Style, Cargo Cosmetics, Calphalon, Mac & Jac and Kensie.
To top the night off perfectly, each guest was sent home with some scrumptious Kernels popcorn in a mock film canister tin, natch.
