The changeover was quick: Where Ping’s once beckoned Mount Pleasant folk looking for badly-cooked noodles in a swanky room with cool lighting (courtesy of Omer Arbel), Cafeteria now stands. Opened by Andrey Durbach and Chris Stewart, owners of La Buca and Pied-à-Terre, the fare here changes daily, depending on what’s fresh. Check the old-fashioned board (seriously, it’s just like the one in my junior high school caf) for eclectic (but delicious) dishes like lobster tortellini or kurobata pork teriyaki over fried rice.
