We appear to have travelled nine months into the future since the last episode (hello, Ethel’s baby!) and it’s not looking good. Matthew and William are both gravely injured at war and have returned to Downton to recover—but neither have a positive prognosis. Mary’s doing damage control, Bates is still battling his ex, and the Earl, as usual, spends the episode in uniform looking for something to do.

Saddest episode yet….but it just got infinitely more interesting! Do you think that it it for Lavinia? Left without much of a fight…..

Im definitely going to tune in. My thoughts this episode sounds very sad! This isthe saddest wedding i have ever heard of. Definitely a great show to watch. Gotta get caught up. Lol

The saddest moment of that wedding imho was when the camera panned around the room to the older mens’ faces: they were all just barely holding it together.

I feel horrible for Daisy. She was put in an impossible situation where she would end up feeling like a horrible person no matter what she chose to do. She did look beautiful doing it, though.
