After weeks of having Soho House Toronto membership papers sitting on my desk, I daresay last night’s first TIFF foray into the newly minted spot is making it mighty hard to turn down. Beyond a British gent-held velvet rope, the old timey Soho House décor complete with antique mirrors, a wide marble staircase, floor-to-ceiling Grey Goose bottles was in full swing and last night, the cast of Looper was there too. Just before midnight, the stars of the future/past/present time travel action flick showed up on masse to toast the film’s TIFF premiere with vodka cocktails (last year’s Le Fizz is back for another round alongside new additions like a Toronto-inspired tea) and miniature foods. Bruce Willis held court in a cozy little corner nook while Joseph-Gordon Levitt chatted with PRs, pals and…not me. Tidbits for crushing ladies like me? He has a really nice tan, he’s not as tall as you’d imagine but still perfectly babeular in stature and friends call him Joe. (I would have gone for Joey, JGL, or event the full on Joseph-Gordon Levitt, but hey).

Outside, Emily Blunt, in a beautiful form-fitting maroon cocktail dress and a beachy blond bob, kanoodled (literally, promise) with husband John Krasinski. His height, if you care, was as tall as expected, and also perfectly babeular. As the group fled the scene to head over to the film’s second TIFF soiree, Emily Blunt slightly tripped over the not-quite-ready Soho House floorboards. But with Krasinski and Joseph-Gordon Levitt (we’re on a full name basis) in tow, she was quickly caught and scooped into a limo.

Later, at the reasonable hour of 2am, Toronto Life writer Fraser Abe hauled me back from just reaching my elevator to do some more creeping. Joseph-Gordon Levitt had showed up at party part two. Hai! Held at Lot 580 and sponsored by smartwater, the new back-alley spot on Portland lightly lit by purple strobes and candles provided the perfect backdrop for more partying and finally…dancing! By 4am, the party (Joseph-Gordon Levitt, clutching a bottle of smartwater) had petered out, save for a Nike-wearing robot dancer who still grooved to the beat of his own drum.
