Just announced! Rihanna will perform at this year’s Victoria’s Secret fashion show
As if the prospect of watching supermodels like Adriana Lima, Miranda Kerr and Alessandra Ambrosio model high-fashion lingerie wasn’t enough to get us to tune in to the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, it was just announced that Rihanna is going to be involved.
Today the singer revealed the news on her Facebook page that she will be performing at the annual event, which will be televised on December 4. The spectacle has seen past performances from the likes of Justin Timberlake and the Spice Girls, as well as Rihanna’s friends Kanye West and Jay-Z. Rihanna—who has been quite busy lately, from closing the Paralympics to working on her seventh (!!) album—will sing two songs at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, including her new single “Diamonds.” She will also be joined by two other acts, one of which is some guy named Justin Bieber. No big deal.
It was only just a few months ago that Rihanna’s contract with skin care line Nivea ended, causing rumours to start swirling that she was “too sexy” for the brand. Victoria’s Secret, on the other hand, has seemingly capitalized on her provocative personality, naming her the “Sexiest Songstress” on their 2011 “What is Sexy?” list. So we’re pretty confident Rihanna will be bringing her signature brand of sexy back (people still say that, right?) when she performs at the show in a couple of months.
