It looks as though 2013 is gearing up to be a big year for Mariah Carey and her little lambs. First the five-octave diva inked a deal with American Idol—making her the highest paid judge on reality television—and now OPI has announced that Mimi will serve as the inspiration for a line of limited-edition polishes that will launch in January 2013. We know the contestants of American Idol can sing, but how good do they look while belting it out? Well, who better to dish out style tips to the hopefuls than the all-American style guru, Tommy Hilfiger. Starting next week, the designer will take the ropes to help contenders transform their looks to help them shape distinctive identities.
“Musicians can bring such a unique vision and personality to the stage. I admire risk takers who share my belief in the power of fashion to transform and influence, and I look forward to working with the artists to guide them in defining their performance style and identity,” Hilfiger said in a press release sent out yesterday.
