The Final Exit: Heather

In a slightly shocking turn of events, one-time front runner Heather Delaney was sent home after failing to make an impression at her New York go-sees.

Which part of this experience was the most fun? Which was the most stressful?

The most fun was transforming into a new look each time, from yourself into this crazy, whatever it was. The last shoot in New York was this sort of diva with black hair. That was fun. I might dye my hair black.

The most stressful was judging. You just didn’t know what they were going to say. The first judging ever I actually fell down, I tripped, so that was really horribly embarrassing. Read more »

With the judges feeling she was more suited to the stage than the runway, Rebeccah packed her bags this week.

Which part of this experience was the most fun? Which was the most stressful?
“The most fun part of the experience was the makeover episode. They gave me an awesome haircut. I still need to figure out how to do the cowlick and I’ve got to cut off about an inch and dye my roots again but I love it. It suits me a lot better than what I had before. And also, going to The Bahamas, that was awesome. Read more »

CNTM Episode 4: Tell me how that makes you feel…

In episode 4, the models get a lesson in charisma from Irina Lazareanu and smile with their eyes through ridiculous makeup. And everybody talks about their issues. A lot.

We can only assume she means Nikita: Ebonie’s note implore the girls to “Please stop complaining, you are the luckiest girls in the world.”

Today’s theme: Anxiety. Let’s start with Rebeccah who has “lost her spunk” and is crying on the phone.

The Nikita has two faces: To camera–“She’s kind of not all there.” To Rebeccah—“If you ever need anything, don’t be afraid to ask.”

Today’s guest: Irina! We’ll say it again. Irina!

Welcome to group therapy: The girls have to get up and speak in front of the group. We find out Meaghan was shy and awkward in high school. Nikita does an impression of Maryam’s quiet voice and Maryam looks really hurt. Also, Rebeccah “disgusts” Nikita.

Editing: I think things would go much faster if we just ignored Nikita for the rest of the episode. Read more »

After her second consecutive appearance in the bottom two, Tara Didon was sent home.

Which part of this experience was the most fun? Which was the most stressful?

“The most fun was to get to meet all these people, like Jay and Yasmin, and to hear what they had to say about you. They’re professionals; they know what they’re doing. Just going to the challenges was fun too. I’m going to be watching this and having a blast thinking, ‘Oh my god’ I totally remember this. This was so fun.’ I made a strong friendship with a lot of girls–Tiffany, Ebonie, Linsay–the show’s going to be over but our friendship will never be over. Read more »

This week, the girls smash fruit on their faces and go to the Bahamas. And they scream. A lot.

And so it begins: The girls open a box with black bathing suits and start to scream. Really? Over black bathing suits? The crew arrives at the hotel pool where Mike and Yasmin are beaching it.

Today’s practice challenge: Look pretty while getting pummeled with water. Nikita gets raccoon eyes, Rebeccah loses a contact and Meaghan is like a statue.

Hot for teacher: Mike takes his shirt off and gets into the pool, so you know there was shrieking. (Okay, he did gyrate.)

Miss congeniality: “My picture is like a kick in the face to them,” Nikita says when her photo is up in the penthouse. Read more »

Poor Ebonie. Sharing a hometown with Mike Ruiz couldn’t save her. At least she got a trip to the Bahamas.

Which part of this experience was the most fun? Which was the most stressful?

Going to The Bahamas was the coolest experience because we got the chance to travel like real models and it was really cold in Toronto at the time. And we did a photo shoot on the beach which was absolutely amazing.

Elimination for me was the most stressful because you never knew what to expect. Each time you thought you did well, you didn’t end up doing well. Each time you didn’t think you did that great, the judges ended up saving you. Read more »

CNTM Episode 2: You have the right to remain stylishly silent

Nikita's winning shot

Nikita's winning shot

In this episode, we bone up on fashion law, see the girls play stylist and go on a trip to the AGO.

Awwww: The girls return to the penthouse to find Tiffany’s note, adorned with a single tear.

Anvil: They really made a point of showing what time the girls went to bed (3:00 a.m.) and when they planned to get up (10:30 a.m.), so of course Nolé arrives at, that’s right, 6:10 a.m. Ridiculous bonus: He’s dressed as a duty officer, and has come to “arrest” the girls.

Best bit of pantomime: The models arrive at a courthouse and Jay whips around, in high court drag, and informs them they’ve all “violated section J [of course!] 212 of the fashion code.” As we all know, section J212 states that “it is a Top Model’s supreme duty to look fffabulous at all times.” Oh my god. The judges didn’t think Vancouver’s Jill Pukesh really wanted to be on the show, and from what she tells us, it seems they were right.

Which part of this experience was the most fun? Which was the most stressful?

“The most fun part was definitely meeting all the girls and interacting with them. I’d only been hanging out with them for two weeks but I felt like I’ve known them for so long. I think our personalities all just really connected and I really hope I do get some good long-term friendships out of this. Maryam lives in Vancouver and I’m planning on hanging out with her. I loved a lot of the girls there.

“The most stressful was not getting enough sleep because my brain needs sleep. Having to go to sleep at 3:30 and get up at 6:00 was difficult for me and it definitely added to my exhaustion, stress levels and just energy in general.” Read more »
