Today, we’re unloading the contents of our jetsetting senior fashion news editor, Sarah Casselman‘s bag. Inside her chicer than chic Tiffany tote, you’ll find a smattering of beloved trinkets from jaunts to Paris, New York, Capri, and beyond that all seem to exude the good life. Oh, and an US Weekly thrown in for good measure.

PFW diary: Day 1 in Paris brings a visit to Colette, and more pearls from the Hussein Chalayan exhibit
A rare break on the Paris fashion week calendar means an editor does one or two things:
1. Visit Colette. (Check!) Among the countless chic finds, the Jeremy Scott x Swatch collab watches make telling time—at least when your iPhone dies—a very colourful experience.
2. Visit a museum. I zipped over to Les Arts Décoratifs to zoom through Hussein Chalayan’s Fashion Narratives. Known for his highly inventive designs that fuse fashion, architecture, and technology together, this exhibit highlights Chalayan’s kook-tastic universe using a multi-sensory experience, including voice, body, music, light, and décor that mirrors his ready-to-wear shows.

PFW diary: Gaga for Colette, Chanel and of course… Mugler!

I wish I could tell you that after a transatlantic red-eye and a nap, my first day in Paris started with something noble, like the sculpture exhibit by contemporary British artist Tony Cragg at the Louvre. But, heck, Colette and Chanel have teamed up to create an “ephemeral boutique,” conveniently around the corner from my hotel!

LFW diary: Black, white & Daphne all over at David Koma, Mark Fast and Giles

I knew the David Koma show would be black and white and dotty all over when Daphne Guinness ⎯beer heiress, patron saint of designers and stranger to colour ⎯arrived. Sure enough, the first look was a super-minimal cream sheath with black leather dots, in rows of varying size, appliqued on sleeves and skirt. Then came a black wool capelet and a swingy leather midi-skirt, both perforated with great big polka dots. The circle motif spiralled into delightful madness: swirling patterns; leather and wool mashups; screenprinted, polka-dotted faces. I hated only the blog-rave soundtrack and, in that spirit, the balls of fun fur Koma tacked onto otherwise great pieces. He’d have been better off leaving black and white alone. Would Daphne wear a kool-aid blue fur peplum or a sun-yellow stole? I don’t think so.

Fashion news: Superhero fashion in Paris, RIP Tyra Show and the Kaiser wants it all
Happy birthday to Batman, Superman, Catwoman, et al. Parisian boutique Colette is celebrating DC Comics‘ 75th anniversary with a superhero-inspired collection by the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Lanvin and Thierry Larsly. Suffice to say this isn’t tacky paraphernalia, more like sexy Catwoman boots (Roger Vivier) and bejeweled leather gloves (Lagerfeld) a la Green Lantern. [Racked]
Patricia Field, the costume director of a certain monstrous sequel has just released a swimwear collection. Be generous with the sunblock to avoid some crazy tan lines. [The Cut] Read more »
Fashion news: Marc Jacobs reality show, Pugh designs accessories for Apple, and more

Photography by Peter Stigter
Marc Jacobs is rumoured to have a reality show in the works for gay network Logo. The show would play like a gay version of The Real Housewives, centred around Jacobs’ life at home and in the office and starring other “high-powered (openly gay) playboys.” Please, please, please let this be true. A three-way union featuring Gareth Pugh, Colette and AnOther magazine has spawned an Apple electronics-apparel design. Teaming up with InCase to design a MacBook Pro foam case and an iPhone hard case, Pugh’s star pattern will adorn the protective new products. [Fashionista]
