Check out the full Lanvin for H&M video!

Comments

The anticipation for the Lanvin x H&M collaboration is about to reach full-blown mania. The Swedish fast-fashion chain released the video for the collection late yesterday. It’s the full version of the trailer that was released last month that had Leigh Lezark in full French maid gear serving a mysterious “strong tea” to a furiously scribbling Alber Elbaz. On display in Elbaz’s crazy hotel are ruffled frocks, poufy tulle dresses, T-shirts printed with whimsical drawings, a zebra-striped trench and a pair of leopard print pumps with an ankle strap that you will have to fight us for.

The collection hits select North American H&M stores on November 20.

After three years of design and production high-end carpet retailer The Rug Company is set to release a 7-piece collection of rugs and cushions featuring designs by the late Alexander McQueen. (The company has a history of high-fashion collaborators, including Diane von Furstenberg, Vivienne Westwood and Matthew Williamson)

The couture-quality rugs and cushions includes four recognizable McQueen motifs–skulls, hummingbirds, feathers and the military brocade that was prominent in the designer’s final collection–and was made using hand knotted wool, cashmere and silk yarns. The collection will be available after the holidays. (In Toronto at Avenue Road, 415 Eastern Ave., 416-548-7788 or therugcompany.info)

Dispatch from Milan: Mark Fast’s clubby collabo with Italian retailer Pinko

Comments

Between two of my favorite Milan experiences (the Prada show and my beloved bowl of spaghetti rosa), I hobbled over to the hopping Brera District to congratulate fellow Canuck Mark Fast on his brand spanking new collaboration with Italian retailer Pinko (sort of like an Italian Bebe) that will be in stores for spring. “I am so proud of her, not just because of modeling but for all the work she does for charity. It all comes from a very genuine place, despite her many mishaps shall we say.” Naomi Campbell’s mother Valerie told British Vogue at a party celebrating the iconic model’s 25 years in the modeling industry. Vancouver: John Fluevog celebrates 40 years with a watch collabo

Comments

This year marks the 40th anniversary of John Fluevog (fluevog.com), and to continue the celebrations, the footwear designer teamed up with Nooka, a cool New York accessories label, to produce a limited edition Nooka x John Fluevog watch ($295, nooka.com or Fluevog stores). Working with Nooka artist and designer Matthew Waldman, Fluevog was inspired by the “clean, but intricate design” of the timepieces and combined a white leather band with a red swirl stitch, Nooka’s popular Zot face imprinted with a Fluevog Angel, and a back casing printed with the edition number, a message from John, and four screws–one for each Fluevogian decade.
