Vancouver: John Fluevog celebrates 40 years with a watch collabo

Comments

This year marks the 40th anniversary of John Fluevog (fluevog.com), and to continue the celebrations, the footwear designer teamed up with Nooka, a cool New York accessories label, to produce a limited edition Nooka x John Fluevog watch ($295, nooka.com or Fluevog stores). Working with Nooka artist and designer Matthew Waldman, Fluevog was inspired by the “clean, but intricate design” of the timepieces and combined a white leather band with a red swirl stitch, Nooka’s popular Zot face imprinted with a Fluevog Angel, and a back casing printed with the edition number, a message from John, and four screws–one for each Fluevogian decade.

It’s on: Lanvin for H&M

Yesterday’s rumours were true: Lanvin is coming to H&M! There will be both a womenwear and a menswear collection designed by Lanvin creative director Alber Elbaz and men’s designer Lucas Ossendrijver. The pieces will be revealed on November 2 via video and hit stores on November 20 (or 23 outside of Canada and the U.S.).

Will you be lining up for this one?

Lanvin is likely the next up for an H&M line

That squealing sound you heard this morning was the (virtual, anyway) sound of Lanvin lovers everywhere exclaiming in delight over the very probable rumour that the house will be the next H&M pair up. An insider speculated to WWD that the “Designer Collaborations 2010″ video actually featured the disguised voice of Alber Elbaz saying, “Design is very important because it actually brings dream to our life.” (Speculation has also pointed to Tomas Maier, based on a commenter recognizing the hands of the Bottega Veneta designer in one of the videos.)

The rumour won’t be confirmed until the collaborations are revealed on September 9, but if Lanvin is indeed on board, it will be utter chaos trying to get ones hands on these pieces. We advise you to take care: Lanvinites often sport weapons-grade neck wear.

H&M released a video dubbed “Designer Collaborations 2010″ that stars a mystery male designer, who an eagle-eyed viewer spotted as Bottega Veneta designer Tomas Maier, sparking rumours of a collaboration. Just when we swear we’ll never line up for one of these things again…. [Fashionologie]

American designer Ralph Rucci has cancelled his runway show for the this year’s New York Fashion Week. Rucci’s president Vivan Natta will be taking an extended medical leave and Rucci has decided to hold individual appointments at his Soho showroom instead, a move he says will save the company US$500,000. Fashion news: Grace Coddington is writing a memoir, Marc Jacobs’ grooming routine and did Kate Moss get married?

What’s fringed, flat, studded with stars and costs US$795? It could only be the new Jimmy Choo Uggs. [Racked]

Did Kate Moss secretly marry musician Jamie Hince? The pair have been spotted recently with slim bands on their respective wedding finger, but friends say they’re not hitched yet. [Daily Mail]

Grace Coddington, Vogue’s creative director, is currently penning a memoir, though we’ve already read her book The Catwalk Cats, so we’re not sure what else there is to add. (Kidding! We can’t wait.) [WWD]
