In spite of working my out my arms daily carrying my toddler, I still don’t seem to possess the strength to squash out every last drop of product from tubes of toothpaste, diaper cream or skincare. But this handy dandy little doohickey from Dr. Hauschka ($13, saffronrouge.com) does the trick, sparing you from wasting a single globule of goodness.

The daily steal: Brightly-coloured sandals, $20
We’re just coming off a long week of neutral-coloured clothes on the runway at Paris Fashion Week and even though those camel-hued clothes aren’t in stores for fall, I already feel like I need a dose of the brights. These sandals are only $20 at Old Navy (oldnavy.ca) and perfect for a little orange aid.

The daily steal: Grey nail polish, $6
Ever since I spied the five customized shades of grey Creative Nail Design mixed up backstage at Marc Jacobs Fall 2010 show, I have been fantasizing about adorning my own hands with some–specifically the charcoal hue. Until CND releases them (please, please make it happen), I’ll tide myself over with Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in “Commander in Chic” ($6, at drugstores). With no brown undertones (I’m so over taupe), this rich hue looks divinely smoky in some light, darkly mauve in others. Smitten.

The daily steal: Trompe l’oeil chemise, $58
We’ve had a nice dose of spring in Toronto this week and while it’s not shorts and sandals weather yet (it’s really not, people), I feel like I can start putting together my spring wardrobe without fear of snowy reprisals. I wear real bows never, but I somehow like the trompe l’oeil version on this little chemise from Anthropologie ($58, anthropologie.com). I’ll tuck this under a tux jacket now, but bare arms when the real warm weather hits.

The daily steal: Rosy hair pins, $16
I love vanilla-flavoured cake with butter-cream frosting and pastel-coloured roses made from icing. Sadly, my thighs don’t agree. Meeting me half way are Prismera’s sweet baby pink and butter yellow rose hair clips ($16 each, prismeradesign.com).
While the baby buds don’t actually taste so great (yes, I licked one), they do however, hold my hair back nicely and are easy to style. With the pink one tucked in on one side, and minus the guillotine, I’m channeling Marie Antoinette.

The daily steal: Clear umbrella, $19
Living in notoriously rainy Vancouver, I refuse to let dreary weather dampen my mood (or my hair). Instead, I’ve made it my mission to procure the most cheerful waterproof accessories I can get my hands on. This see-through bubble umbrella from Urban Outfitters (urbanoutfitters.com) is only $19 and you can pick from 5 colours (if totally clear is a colour). My day is brighter already!

Daily steal: Maple leaf soap, $8
The Vancouver Games may be over, but we still have plenty of reason to show our patriotic side. Enter the Canuck-inspired limited-edition maple soap by Lush ($8; lush.ca), which contains real Canadian maple syrup and a sugar topping that leaves your skin sweetly scented. Bonus: In true Lush style, no beavers were harmed in the making of this product!

The daily steal: Peppermint lip oil, $13
Pure + Simple is my favourite place to go for all-natural skin care, mineral makeup and bliss-out facials, and my fandom continues unabated with the launch of this new lip oil ($13, pureandsimple.ca). In a handy rollerball glass applicator, the minty oil is deeply nourishing but leaves the glistening finish of a gloss.

The daily steal: Soy candle, $44
Yeah, I know it costs more than I would spend on a dry-cleaning in a month, but let me explain. Juara’s pretty and lightly scented Hope Soy Candle ($44, beautymark.ca) burns for a ridiculously long time, emits smoke-free signals (thanks to being made from soy) and, here’s the best part, donates 10% of its proceeds to Walubi—a charitable relief organization providing emergency aid to disaster-stricken areas of Indonesia. With earthquakes and tsunami’s rattling our world every few months, it’s a small price to pay.

The daily steal: Denim necklace, $20
The thing about fashion is that the rules are always changing. As Heidi Klum says on Project Runway, “one day you’re in, the next, you’re out.” So I should hardly be surprised when a one-time faux pas is suddenly on point. I’m talking denim on denim. Call me old fashioned, but I just can’t seem to wrap my head around this one. Even seeing some of fashion’s heavy-hitters sporting the look is not enough to tempt me to try it out. But then I came across Aldo’s bold denim necklace ($20, aldoshoes.ca). While I’ll still be participating in the trend, this will be far away enough from my skinnies that I don’t look like a cowgirl.
