It’s a Beckham takeover out there! Yesterday, we reported that Victoria Beckham’s newest line was selling out of Harvey Nichols. Now it’s David Beckham’s turn, with his bodywear collection hitting H&M stores worldwide today. The soccer legend celebrated in London last night with an in-store launch party and an après-bash at a custom-made pop-up gentleman’s club. And with a campaign shot like this, it’s no wonder ladies like Bianca Jagger, Charlotte Dellal, and Emma Bunton (a.k.a. Baby Spice) showed up to support cop a feel. Last time things got this Beckham crazy, it was the future, and we were in a space ship.

They said/We said: David Beckham’s assets are expertly displayed in the ad for his H&M underwear collection

By Bianca Teixeira
A first look at David Beckham’s advertisement for his H&M underwear collection has hit the web, and shall we just say, the Swedish brand sure knows its assets.
No stranger to flaunting his abs, pecs, glutes, and, well, you get it, the British soccer player first starred in Emporio Armani’s 2009 underwear campaign, and now he’s sharing once again. Set to launch on Feb. 2, the collection’s first campaign photo spotlights Beckham in all his glory—and a pair of $10 underwear.
The black and white photo features the star in his skivvies with his name in bold text stamped over his body. In an act of genius, the letters covering his inked chest have been photoshopped out. As we all wait with bated breath for more ads to be released, it gets us thinking: Should we all line up at H&M on Feb. 2 for Beckham posters to take home? Or shall we just hope that future ads come with a workable eraser—if you know what we mean.

They said/We said: Harper Seven Beckham is destined to become the latest diaper-donning fashion icon

Photography by James Devaney/Getty Images
Looks like Harper Seven Beckham has gone from fashion accessory to full-fledged fashionista. The baby has been seen on the arm of her mom in Little Marc Jacobs dresses and Chloé tights, and though we’re assuming that she’s not yet old enough to make her own sartorial choices, she certainly knows how to attract the style snaps.
Her doting dad talked recently about her expansive wardrobe, gushing that “she has so many cute little dresses” to wear, and that he as well as his wife have been spoiling her with adorable designer duds. “I didn’t realize how excited I would get over buying hair bows,” he admitted—and while David Beckham isn’t exactly our taste, we can hear the collective sighs of women across the world.

They said/We said: We chime in on what the future holds for the newest Beckham, Harper Seven

Romeo and Victoria Beckham shot by John Shearer/Getty Images
After 12 years of breeding the future stars of men’s soccer, Victoria and David Beckham finally have a little girl to call their own. Born Sunday at 7:55 a.m., Harper Seven had fans taking to Twitter to insta-congratulate as well as to comment on the bundle’s name. While the team at Harper’s Bazaar was all for the shared moniker, most poked fun at the name. Even British political journalist Yvonne Ridley chimed in, saying, “[It] sounds like a toilet detergent to me.”
We can only imagine what a life little Miss Beckham will grow up to have—with the genes of a superstar athlete and a fashion-designer/pop-star/all-around supermom, the possibilities are endless. Will she fall into her mom’s love of fashion? Take up pop music à la Spice Girls? Perhaps she’ll follow her namesake, To Kill a Mockingbird author Harper Lee, into a writing career. All we can say is: Look out, Suri!

Royal wedding countdown: Day 29
We don’t know about you, but our invite to the royal wedding must have simply gotten lost in the mail. If you’re in the same boat, Legoland has made an incredibly (almost frighteningly) detailed lego-block fantasy of what the royal wedding will look like at Buckingham Palace⎯which looks so lifelike, it caused a double take.
Seen in attendance for the mini-ceremony? Of course, the bride, groom, and royal family, as well as paparazzi, the guards, and VIP guests including Paul McCartney, the Beckhams, and Elton John.

Fashion news: Lanvin’s NY boutique, Lacroix designer considering fast fashion and how Beckham introduced the straight man to fashion
While it’s easy to slam David Beckham – and anything Becks related- as excessive, Stephano Gabbana (of Dolce & Gabbana) will argue that that excess actually revolutionized men’s fashion. “Here was a soccer player who is straight, with a wife and children, and men were saying: ‘If he wore it, I can wear it too.’ Before that it felt like men’s fashion was just for gay men or strange people - men were afraid to wear something special.” [Vogue UK]
Lanvin will open its first New York boutique by the end of this week. “It’s about time,” says creative director Alber Elbaz. Great, now take that same mentality and shift it to the other side of the border… [WWD] Read more »

Fashion news: Betsey Johnson wants to sell on TV, Megan Fox disrobes for Armani, Joe Corre exits Agent Provocateur and more

Photography by Peter Stigter
Although not the most tech-savvy of designers (her assistant tweets and emails for her), Betsey Johnson is looking to cross over into TV sales on the QVC network. We hope there are cartwheels involved. [Racked]
Megan Fox is Giorgio Armani’s latest muse. Fox will model for the Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans campaigns set to hit this January. Fox is following in the footsteps of Victoria and David Beckham, who posed in their skivvies in this year’s ads. [WWD] Read more »
