What was she thinking? Fergie walks the red carpet in a dress too tight to zip!

Comments

Last night at the InStyle A Night of First’s event in Los Angeles, Fergie was photographed wearing Jean-Charles de Castelbajac dress complete with Felix the Cat–patterned motif. Aside from some unfortunate extra-cleavage, the dress seemed to be a perfect fit, until she turned around to reveal—quelle disastre—that the zipper was only done up about halfway and that the dress was being held together by a piece of black fabric! Is looking like a stuffed sausage the next celebrity fashion trend?

It’s no secret that a bit of visual trickery goes into every celebrity appearance, but seriously? Did she really think no one would notice? Did she not have an entourage to give her a heads up? Fergie is known for singing at length about how bangin’ her body is (and it really is!)—looks like someone may have too many lady lumps. (Please note: we will never again make a joke about a celebrity’s weight, but that was just too easy.)

Vote: Which celebrity Halloween costume is your favourite?

Comments

They’re just like us! Hollywood’s and fashion’s best were out over the weekend and last night celebrating Halloween in Marvel, Disney, and trash TV style. Despite some lacklustre outings from the likes of Lindsay Lohan (what else is new?) and Paris Hilton, who all gave it the ole “I just want to be sexy” college try, we picked our 6 favourites. So, who takes the cake?

Fashion news: U.S. moves piracy bill closer to law, Haider Ackermann to stop men’s line, and bookie calls odds on Kate Middleton’s dress designer

Comments

The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee passed the Innovative Design Protection and Piracy Prevention Act yesterday. The bill would allow designers to copyright patterns and designs–currently protection only applies to trademarks–in an effort to keep knock-offs at bay. If the bill becomes law, it would be up to the courts to decide what’s original and therefore would be protected. [Fashionista]

Haider Ackermann will stop producing his men’s label after the first season in what the company is calling a deliberate creative move. Says the owner of BVBA 32, the Belgian company that operates Ackermann’s line: “Haider wanted to underline the image he made for his women’s line with the man at her side. The men’s collection will be added again at the time Haider wants to and it will not be linked to a season. [Vogue UK] Read our interview with Haider Ackermann Read more »

Comments

FMtiff09informant31Matt Damon, Amanda Seyfried, and Colin Farrell were shot by InStyle at the Windsor Arms for the November issue. The magazine’s party at the hotel later that night drew Clive Owen, Robin Wright, Keanu Reeves and Fergie (the royal, not the singer). [WWD] [@mbilodeau]

Ed Norton was none too pleased to see the media at the Cheval after party for his film Leaves of Grass. Norton didn’t walk the red carpet or give the cameras a shot, sneaking into the party inconspicuously. [Toronto Life] Read more »
