That lower-priced Balmain line? Not happening. Never was. Says a company spokesperson: “What I think you might be referring to is a capsule collection that was prepared for some Parisian retailers. Christophe Decarnin wasn’t involved in that project. The brand has decided to not repeat the experience, preferring to concentrate all its efforts on the main line.” [Vogue UK]

Fashion news: Karl’s new mag, Choo shenanigans in Shanghai and some rumours dispelled

The Daily Beast compiled a list of the 10 most valuable models. If the suspense is killing you, Gisele is number one, followed by Christy Turlington (7), Kate Moss (2) and the usual suspects. We’d argue that Daria (5) is hardly an “up-and-comer” though, so you can probably take this all with a grain of salt. [Daily Beast]

Did you camp out for Jimmy Choo?

nov09jimmychoo8_250

Across the globe, Jimmy Choo fans camped overnight outside H&M stores like groupies desperate for concert tickets. We caught wind of a few brave souls waiting outside the Bloor Street location a full 14 hours before the doors opened on Saturday morning. Even to us that seems pretty hardcore.  At the link, read about one British woman who camped out for 12 hours with with her champ of a boyfriend. Did you line up for Jimmy Choo? Was it worth the wait? Which pieces did you score? [Daily Mail]

Wristband policy in effect at H&M tomorrow

nov09jimmychoo9_250Attention, rock dwellers! The Jimmy Choo for H&M collection begins its brief stay in stores tomorrow. You know the drill by now: show up early with Lärabars for energy and elbow pads for protection. H&M is making an attempt to control the chaos this time around by instituting a wristband policy befitting a rock star (or rock star designer). Here are the rules: Read the rest of this entry »

Fashion news: Pregnant Jourdan Dunn walks runway, Heidi Klum changes name, Brooks Brothers sells Mad Men suits and more

Morning sickness didn’t stop a very pregnant Jourdan Dunn from walking the runway for Jean Paul Gaultier. The glowing model wore a padded cone bra with matching maternity plate, looking like a Roman soldier in her first catwalk appearance at the spring shows. [Fashionologie]

Heidi Klum is changing her last name to match her husband’s. Seal may be known to us solely by his first name, but the singer’s entire name is Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adelo Samuel. Heidi is opting for Samuel as her new surname. We don’t love it as much as Klum, but as long as she doesn’t change her killer legs, we’ll just have to deal.
