Fashion news: Oscar de la Renta and Olivier Theyskens are caught in the Rumour web

Rumours have been circulating that Oscar de la Renta is not well enough to work, after having hip replacement surgery in September. Not true, according to his his representatives, who added that “there is no plan whatsoever to even think of replacing him as the creative head.” [Styleite]

Nars is opening its first stand-alone shop in New York (of course). The new boutique will be located on Bleecker Street and is slated to open in Spring 2011. [Racked NY]

Olivier Theyskens seems to be caught in a web of gossip these days. The latest story to emerge from the rumour mill: Theyskens has turned down Dior,Oscar de la Renta and Valentino in hopes of taking the top spot at Lanvin. [The Cut]

Anna Wintour and co. threw a huge fashion show last night at Lincoln Centre as a lead-up to Friday’s Fashion’s Night Out. Gisele opened, Naomi closed and Coco Rocha, Karlie Kloss and Adriana Lima helped round out the cast of 150 models showing 170 looks. [Huffington Post]

If you think animals fight for their mates, you should see Ford and Next go at it over models. Ford has sued Next three times for stealing models, and now Next is counter-suing, after one of their agents (with three of their prized models) jumped to Ford. Drama! [The Cut]

Taking one for the team, Marc Jacobs is the model for his first men’s fragrance in a decade.  Aptly named, Bang, it’s first ad features a lubed-up Jacobs lying naked with an oversized cologne bottle between his legs.
