What was she thinking? Fergie walks the red carpet in a dress too tight to zip!

Comments

Last night at the InStyle A Night of First’s event in Los Angeles, Fergie was photographed wearing Jean-Charles de Castelbajac dress complete with Felix the Cat–patterned motif. Aside from some unfortunate extra-cleavage, the dress seemed to be a perfect fit, until she turned around to reveal—quelle disastre—that the zipper was only done up about halfway and that the dress was being held together by a piece of black fabric! Is looking like a stuffed sausage the next celebrity fashion trend?

It’s no secret that a bit of visual trickery goes into every celebrity appearance, but seriously? Did she really think no one would notice? Did she not have an entourage to give her a heads up? Fergie is known for singing at length about how bangin’ her body is (and it really is!)—looks like someone may have too many lady lumps. (Please note: we will never again make a joke about a celebrity’s weight, but that was just too easy.)

5 thoughts on Katy Perry’s new peachy-pink bob (and makeup to match!)

    1. Is this colour finally it? Since tweeting way back in July that it was going to take many weeks (and dye jobs) to achieve her next choice of hair colour, Katy Perry has gone from black to badly bleached blonde to Manic Panic pink. Is this pastel peachy-pink hair she debuted at Saturday’s Change Begins Within Benefit Celebration in Los Angeles the final shade, or just another stage of Perry’s ever-evolving hair colour? Vote! Who takes the cake for best dressed designer/muse duo at the British Fashion Awards?

Some of our favourite fashion talents were celebrated last night at the 2011 British Fashion Awards in London, with Sarah Burton, Mary Katrantzou, and Charlotte Olympia (to name a few) coming out on top in their respective categories. As always, what everyone was wearing was equally top of our minds, and we’ve especially enjoyed these neat little red carpet photo combos of megawatt designer avec megawatt muse (or muse-come-designer in Victoria Beckham’s case). In one corner, we’ve got the bright-young-thing duo of Christopher Kane and Alexa Chung donning a look from his Spring 2012 collection, and with Charlotte Olympia kitten heels. In the other, you’ve got the black-on-black pairing of Marc Jacobs and Beckham in her own design (may we just say, Vicky’s looking less extreme than usual, and we like it) The always-cool McCartney and Moss duo triumph with Stella in a sexy-tomboy suit and Kate in all-over fishnet. So, who takes the cake for the best dressed duo?

Alexa Chung and Rachel Weisz’s new hairstyles are not bang on

Vote and tell us what you think! »

Alexa Chung and Rachel Weisz both showed off new hair this week: loose, piece-y bangs that hit below the brow line. Frankly, we’re not sure if the look works for either. While Chung is usually the queen of turning casualwear into pretty and polished, she looked rather frazzled at the 2011 British Fashion Awards. (However, she still won the British Style Award!) Actually, Chung’s makeup artist should take some of the blame. While “no makeup” is on trend, it still requires a solid base—by the end of the night, Chung’s dewy skin just looked washed out. And with the new messy bangs hiding her eyebrows, the rest of her features seem to fade away. Read more »
