What’s your Sex and the City fashion personality?

These days, when it comes to a girl’s closet, it is de rigueur to have multiple fashion personalities.  We change up our looks like stylish chameleons.  In my case, er, closet rather, a week doesn’t go by without the Three Faces of Sarah making an appearance: The Prepster (think seersucker, stripes and sailboat-loads of navy), The Seductress (LBDs, killer heels and notice-me-now jewellery) and The Minimalist (monochromatic dressing with statement extras).

By now, most of the female gender is in a tizzy over the hautely-anticipated Sex and the City: The Movie. By some higher power, this fashionable girl was invited to the Canadian premiere and after party in Toronto. After attending a beauty press launch, it was off to the Scotiabank Theatre at Richmond and John to join the throngs of sexy, young Torontonians dressed in their SATC best. Seriously, one girl was even wearing heels, a bustier and a not-so-little hat à la Carrie Bradshaw—made even more hilarious when she was later spotted carrying gummy candies and a greasy bag of popcorn!

Spring awakening

After a long and dull winter, Montreal is full of life again. Last week the Festival Transamériques (www.fta.qc.ca) drew dance and theatre lovers to its indoor and outdoor shows, exhibitions and workshops. With artists in from Paris, Dusseldorf, Brussels, New York, Rio and Berlin, the atmosphere was really thrilling. Among the favourites was Benoît Lachambre and Louise Lecavalier’s Is You Me, a dark, minimalist dance show that questioned the body and its relationship to others. With N.Y.C. composer Hahn Rowe’s magnetic electronic music and artist Laurent Goldring’s live digital creations, it was a voyage for all the senses.

Party all the time

On a chilly night, the Sexy in the City party steamed up the holiday scene on December 13. With other high-profile parties taking place the same night (such as the madly talked about CTV Holiday Christmas party), Sexy in the City, sponsored by Ford Models and L’Oréal, was the first stop of the night for many.
