Fashion nerds: Your favourite Star Wars characters sport the latest men’s fashions

Comments

Do you ever feel like you have to choose between your love of fashion and your love of epic space operas? We agree it should never come to that, but now you don’t have to. Hong Kong illustrator John Woo has spiffed up your favourite Star Wars characters in more earthly gear: Darth Vader sports Band of Outsiders, Jango Fett looks cool in Comme des Garçons and Stormtroopers kick it Thom Browne, A.P.C. and Viktor & Rolf. Signed prints of these watercolour paintings are available at Woo’s Etsy shop for US$50, and he’s also done special commissions for High Snobriety and Selecticism. Our only complaint: As if Jar Jar Binks is cool enough to pull off Margiela.

The shop is reportedly calling customers with the news that they’re closing down shop and are having a liquidation sale. An employee at the shop confirmed the sale, but not the closure. [The Cut]

It is the computer age and  as such, we who have long been bullied and mistreated for our shared passions (Star Wars, computers, Magic: The Gathering, etc.) are now ruling the world. Geeky and scarily intelligent men like Steve Jobs are reinventing the wheel, skinny, awkward musicians like Joel Plaskett are making clever music, and some of the world’s greatest fashion designers wear their nerd status proudly (see Yuko Yoshitake, Diana Eng, and Raf Simons). Le Running? Puma and YSL’s Stefano Pilati have collaborated on a new sneaker design. But how does it compare to the Kanye/Louis Vuitton shoe? [WWD, HypeBeast]

Speaking of LV, word on the street is that Madonna will once again be the face (and yoga-body) of the line’s Fall campaign. [The Cut]

Gucci’s Frida Giannini (left) doesn’t enjoy the red carpet, tiny planes. [Fashionologie]

Does this mean that Lindsay Lohan hasn’t actually turned to Internet dating to find true love? We’re shocked. Really. [The Cut]
