A cropped knit sweater is an easy way to complete an almost-there outfit and to add an extra layer of warmth—which is especially appealing as temperatures continue to drop. The trick to this trend, seen everywhere from runways to the hallways of our office, is finding the right pieces to pair your with your sweater; after all, no one wants to see bare midriffs in November! There are many ways to mix up this look—we suggest layering over a button-up top and then pairing with flared or printed pants. Worn well, the cropped sweater will carry you through the season in style. Happy layering!

Not just for biker babes anymore, the season has us swimming in feminine options that are equal parts naughty and nice. From body-con dresses to pencil skirts, the new way to wear leather is all about ladylike silhouettes, mixing fabrics, and layering luxe textures like cashmere and fur.

The fashion team has a new boyfriend; his name is Haider Ackermann. He wraps us up in his luxurious long layers of twisted silk and toughens us up with bits of leather, cinched in just the right spots to hide all our little imperfections while achieving the ultimate cool girl vibe. This is one of the biggest trends we are itching to sport for fall, and with the flood of cropped sweaters, diagonal cut separates and floor-grazing maxi skirts arriving in stores, we’ll be strategically layering our way to it-girl status all season long.

Mixing prints is a fun way to liven up any outfit. It can be a bit tricky, though, so be cautious and don’t overwhelm your body. Wild, mismatched patterns are in desperate need of a slim, well-fitted silhouette to draw the eye in—the wrong fit risks making you look more like a bulk bag of gummies than eye candy. Don’t be shy with colour. For the perfect pop, extract one shade from a print in the form of a shoe. And limit your accessories, keeping the chosen few minimal. If you’re still weary about mixing prints, get your feet wet by wearing one strong pattern on the body and incorporate another with a bag. Novices beware: Leave mixing more than two prints at a time to the experts.
