Arriving home after elimination, the girls read a sweet letter from Gina, then head upstairs to find an eviction notice posted on one of the bedroom doors— they will all now be sleeping in the master bedroom. Tia wins the Understatement of the Year award when she says, “Yeeeah, that’s not gonna work out.”
The next morning, a new Jay Mail awaits. “Are you in top condition, or are you just spinning out of control?” Jay asks. The girls are getting better at this riddle thing, quickly surmising that they’re going to do some “fitness stuff.”
Sure enough, they head to a fitness club for a spinning class. Over shots of them pedalling away on stationary bikes (and, in Cori’s case, turning steadily greener ), Tia informs us that she’s now learned when to talk and when to keep quiet…but that she won’t shut up just because people don’t feel like listening to her. Yeah, that makes sense. Also, “exude” seems to be the word of the day, as both Sinead and Cori admit via voice-over that they need to exude more confidence.
After the class, Stacey Mackenzie, the model coach, reads the girls a note from Jay: He wants to meet them for one-on-one chats, during which he’ll undoubtedly do his best Barbara Walters impression and attempt to make them cry (the note doesn’t specify that last bit, but you know it’s true). Cori runs to the bathroom to vomit. (OK, I know she vomited because she exercised too hard and not because she’s terrified of Jay’s probing questions and pearls of wisdom, but that’s much less funny, isn’t it?)
During the one-on-ones, Mo asks Jay about the limitations faced by black models, while Tia claims that she has to keep up the constant chatter. Jay informs Sinead that she has to watch her back, Cori that she needs to toughen up, and Rebecca that she should learn to vomit up her emotions (“I just feel it rumbling down here, and I want it to come— blergh —out,” he explains). Tara is the crier this time, telling a story about how her mother was poisoned and is now blind, a reality Tara finds hard to face. As usual, Jay spins this into a lesson about the modelling industry, explaining that it’s important to draw on those emotions.
Next, the girls head to another fitness club for this week’s challenge: pole dancing. Instructor Krista Knee explains that the girl who exudes (there’s that word again!) the most sexuality and physicality wins. Tara, as a dancer, is sure that she’s got this one in the bag, but she’s shocked and angry when Cori takes the prize: a spa day and extra frames at the next photo shoot. Cori gets to bring two friends to the spa and, shockingly, makes her choices based on merit, picking Rebecca, who tried hard, and Tia, who committed to working that pole no matter how ridiculous she looked. In a confessional, Tara informs us that she doesn’t think Cori deserved to win and can’t stand the girl. “She literally reminds me of trash,” Tara says. Really, Tara? Every time you look at Cori, you picture an overflowing bag of garbage?
The next morning brings another Jay Mail. “Your life as a top model will have its ups and its downs,” Jay says. “Learn to bounce back quickly, and hold that magic moment.”
“We’re jumping!” Tia suggests, and the girls are two for two this week: Their high-fashion editorial photo shoot indeed involves a trampoline, as well as billowy dresses and futuristic makeup. Cori’s extra frames and mid-shoot analysis with Jay and Nolé Marin help her immensely, but Tara and Tia don’t fare so well. Nolé claims that Tara is just coasting, and photographer John van der Schilden says that shooting Tia is “very painful.”
Surprisingly, despite the rocky shoot, Tia’s picture is good and she’s called third during elimination, with Cori first and Rebecca second. Sinead is fourth, leaving Mo and Tara in the bottom two. Although the judges think that Tara’s not living up to her full potential, she gets to stay, and Mo is eliminated. She breaks down in tears, and explains during her goodbye voice-over that she has no idea why she was kicked off. “The first thing I’ll do when I get home is smash something,” she says.
Next week: go-sees, giant dogs and Nigel Barker!

I was shocked that Mo was eliminated! She's so pretty and the perfect Cover Girl model. I'm switching my vote now from Sinead to Rebecca. I guess what will tell is how her 'softer' shoots go.
