Although energetic Mo was last week’s favourite, the judges sent her packing this week on account of her height and the limited range of expression that she demonstrated in the trampoline shoot. They weren’t particularly kind either: Jay called her photos mediocre at best, and Jeanne Beker said that it takes more than spunk to make it in the modelling world. But as the young model demonstrated in this interview, she is too motivated to sit around licking her wounds.
What are you doing now?
“Like right now? Sitting in this chair… [laughing] I’m at summer school.”
What are you studying?
“I’m taking environmental studies at the University of Toronto.”
Have you always wanted to be a model?
“I’ve known since I was 14 that I want to be a model, but my dad was like, ‘No, you have to get an education first,’ so I had to go to school.”
Who do you admire in the fashion world?
“I look up to Kate Moss. She’s been through a lot lately, but I love the way she always bounces back. For one thing, she’s not very tall.”
How tall are you?
“Five-foot-nine and a bit. They told me on the show that I’m too short, which surprised me. Kate Moss is something like five-foot-eight.”
What are the biggest challenges you face as a model?
“There are just a lot of really tall, really skinny girls—a lot of competition. And it seems like it really helps if you have the right connections.”
What sets you apart?
“My interpersonal skills. I get along really well with people. I’m also very motivated, and I work really hard. I never give up.”
On the show, you were often referred to as the sassy girl. Do you agree?
[Laughs] “I can be sassy. I have multiple personalities… There are times when I’m really crazy and hyper on coffee and Red Bull, and there are times when I’m serious, and times when I feel very confident. But I think that’s a good thing: Models should be versatile.”
What’s next? Is modelling in your future?
“Definitely. I’m really going to put myself out there as soon as the show is done. I want to get a lot of work, all over the world.”

I loved Mo! I thought she was going to go so much further - top 2, easily.

She was pretty, but not really a top model. It's got to be Rebecca, right? She should break up with her boyfriend, though, after last night!

Mo was my favourite! I was shocked to see her go. I agree, she could have easily made it to the end. But now Rebecca is the only logical winner.

I loved Mo. I thought that the judges were a bit too hard on her. She's beautiful and I believe that she has what it takes to be a great model.
