We loved hearing about all your favourite beauty products in our 8th Annual Readers' Choice Beauty Awards.

My friend Mary Ann is such a beauty junkie she says that when she dies, she wants her ashes placed in an urn in a Holt Renfrew cosmetics department. Never missing the season’s colour or fragrance launches—that is her idea of heaven.

It turns out that there are many of you who feel the same way. Your passion is evident in the results of our 8th Annual Readers’ Choice Beauty Awards. Over a period of two months, more than 14,500 of you from across Canada shared your most-loved makeup and skin-care products.

Beauty director Adriana Ermter added two new voting categories this year: Favourite Canadian Fragrance, Skin Care and Cosmetics Brand and Favourite Organic/Natural Beauty Brand. The ever-elegant Montreal beauty Lise Watier won in the first category. And you declared Burt’s Bees the leader in the second.

In the course of the Beauty Awards, we always learn something about our readers, most interestingly the things you can’t live without. A tip we’re grateful to have—a hand cream that seems to do it all.

And so often, your comments made us smile.

“If I was living in a nightmare and had only one makeup item, this would be it,” a Montreal reader exclaimed of Yves Saint Laurent’s Touche Éclat. It is remarks such as these that make us realize how much we have in common with our readers.

Best of all, we now have a fresh shopping list of products to try. Thanks to Lexie in Calgary, I’ll be picking up Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion.

And how was it that I didn’t know Joan Rivers has a nail polish collection?

I look forward to hearing from you; write to me at letters@fashionmagazine.com.
