Though praised for their simplicity, there’s a lot to finding that perfect pair of jeans. We took our questions to a denim expert, Diesel Canada president Joey Adler, to find out this season’s must-haves, the coolest new embellishment and why jeans are so important in a modern wardrobe.
What’s new at Diesel this fall?
“Super slim, destroyed washes are still popular for fall. Jeggings are also becoming a seasonal must-have.”
What are some of the new washes and finishes?
“Our fall denim collection includes a new destroyed wash and a sexy, shiny black denim.”
What other bells and whistles do you offer?
“[We offer] washes like 8N1, which is super-destroyed hand-treated. The Matic S8V has a back pocket completely made of chains and the Lowky 8U3 has chains threaded throughout the holes and distressed areas to allow sparkle in a tougher wash.”
Why is denim such a universal wardrobe staple?
“It’s the single most recognizable item in our wardrobes. It says who we are. Denim is integrated into work wear and evening. It’s easy to style and it shows one⁏s individuality. You’ll see denim throughout our collection from denim shirts, dresses and even footwear.”
What is fall’s breakout denim star?
“The Hushy (shown, $285, 514-385-3335)—based on an old smash hit called the Hush, fused with a more recent fit called the Matic. With exposed front pockets and a cropped hem, the style is edgy, feminine and sexy.”
What makes the perfect denim wardrobe? Which styles do you need now?
“A super slim jean like the Livy, Livy-Biker or Hushy, a low-rise fit like the Lowky or Matic and a straight leg jean for comfort like the Lehla.”
