Like many in the fashion industry, this Toronto-based blogger used to comb the racks at Zara and H&M to find runway-inspired pieces priced for a shopper with an entry-level salary—an activity that served as inspiration for Stylehog.com. Originally launched in 2007 as an online magazine, the site was converted into a blog this year and now boasts 35,000 unique visitors each month.

If you didn’t blog about fashion and style, you would blog about… “If I didn’t blog about fashion, I wouldn’t blog at all. In my world, there is fashion and nothing else.”

Who are your style icons? “Grace Kelly made classic style look effortless. I don’t know if you can call the Olsen twins icons yet, but they are on the road to icon status. They set trends, both in their own wardrobe choices and with their designs for The Row and Elizabeth and James.”

Favourite women’s collections for Fall 2010? “Celine and Chloé. Phoebe Philo and Hannah MacGibbon can do no wrong in my book!”

What are you coveting for fall? “Black elbow-length gloves from Danier (I buy a new pair every year because I lose them every year!), a Club Monaco cashmere-blend sweater and thick, ribbed grey tights as seen at Prada. I’ll be buying a cheaper pair from the Bay—they have the best tights and stocking selection. Splurges might be a Max Mara camel coat, the silk bow blouse by Chloé and the Prada pointy-toe, bow-tie pump.”

How would you describe your closet?
“I recently moved into a place with my very own walk-in closet. My boyfriend let me have it all to myself—he took the hall closet—and I can say that thanks to his sacrifice, my closet is finally neat, tidy and, of course, organized by colour.”

What are your can’t-live-without-it fashion items? “My Sonia Rykiel extra-large leather tote. It literally fits the contents of my life so it’s always with me. I also always need to have a great pair of leather loafers. Right now, I’m obsessed with my black leather Bass penny loafers—they took months to break in but are now perfectly moulded to my feet.”

Do you shop online? “Yes! I’m always trolling for great designer deals. I love eBay for great vintage purses from the ’70s. I once missed out on this amazing nude Givenchy day bag because I went to bed before the bidding ended, and I was outbid. Never again!
