Backstage pass: An agent’s view of fashion week
Behind the crazy scenes at New York Fashion Week with model agent Christopher Michael.
{THE 2010 MODEL ISSUE}
9:30 a.m. It’s day five of the shows, and despite my energetic façade, fatigue is creeping through my veins. It’s only 9:30 but it feels sinfully later, after two weeks of much earlier starts during the incessant wave of castings, fittings and callbacks. Now is when the craze takes on a new form with a series of taxi rides, BlackBerry emails and manic phone calls. First crisis of the day? Two of my girls have not shown up to their first show, and it’s an hour and a half past their call time! Disaster. I send a chaperone over to the model apartment to make sure they get there before first looks. Please get there before first looks!
