Jimmy Fallon: “What is the new black?” Marc Jacobs: “47.” Anna Wintour and Marc Jacobs appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night to talk up Fashion’s Night Out, but also covered Jacobs’ shoulder surgery, his “kilt that’s not a kilt,” Vogue’s value per dollar, and banana suits. [The Cut]

Erdem has been nominated for the 2010 British Fashion Awards designer of the year award, along with Christopher Kane and Phoebe Philo. Other BFDA nominees include Nick Knight and Nicola Formichetti for the Isabella Blow award for fashion creator and Burberry, Mulberry, Pringle of Scotland and Victoria Beckham were nominated for designer brand of the year. It’s the end of an era for Simon Doonan and The New York Observer. The fashion columnist and creative director for Barney’s will be leaving The Observer after a 10-year stint to write for Slate Magazine. [Gawker]

Karlie Kloss is the latest in a long line of fashion personalities to appear on Gossip Girl. Kloss will be playing her self in the Fashion’s Night Out episode (of course) which will also include a cameo from Vogue‘s Meredith Melling Burke. [Fashionologie]

For Fashion’s Night Out: The Show, Anna Wintour promised 150 top models and Ms. Wintour is set to deliver. Gisele Bündchen, Naomi Campbell, Karolina Kurkova, Sasha Pivovarova and Canada’s own Coco Rocha, just to name a few, have signed up to walk in what is being billed as the largest public fashion show in New York City history. A video clip of Kate Moss and her daughter Lila Grace being hounded by paparazzi at LAX has led to a clamp down on the paparazzi in California. Unruly photogs can now be fined $5,000 or land a one year jail sentence for harassing a celebrity on their way to or driving around in their or for breaking the state’s traffic laws. [Jezebel]
