THE PRINTED PANT

Danielle Roche, 20
Toronto | Kastor and Pollux

With an endless range of fun pants to choose from, this season I’m more than a little excited to couple silky pants with cozy knits. Because a high waisted and wide legged silhouette is automatically super elongating, I chose to pair my H&M pants with some sky high platforms to make my legs look way longer than they are in real life. Successfully pulling off optical illusions while not being completely uncomfortable is awesome!

THE WIDELEG

Alex Grant, 25

All the wide-legged silhouettes that cropped up in this season’s collections are actually a dream come true for me—my hourglass silhouette works best with anything that nips in at the waist and is slightly drapier through the bottom, so anything flared and higher-waisted is perfection. The palazzo pant silhouette of this jumpsuit has made it a fast favourite of mine—though it’s still too hot to layer anything other than jewellery over top of it for now, come fall, a slightly cropped blazer or sweater topped with a chunky scarf and sturdy booties would easily complete the look. Another tip: never hem your wide-legged bottoms. The roominess makes them perfect for adding some obscenely high heels and adding some leg-lengthening height!

THE PANTSUIT

What is great about this season is that almost any pant style works. While I usually stick to the skinny, I loved styling this wide-legged suit as it was surprisingly flattering. Sometimes it is great to mix it up.

THE FLARE

Marta Tryshak, 24

Flared pants may be an intimidating trend to fall in love with, but I promise they are worth a try! For most body types, a flared pant paired with sky-high heels elongates and flatters much more than a skinny leg. To boot, Ralp Lauren, Michael Kors and Prabal Gurung all showed the look this season, so they’re certainly topping my must-have list for fall.
