Power Ball is but a day away, and as you can imagine, it has Toronto’s creative crowd in an anticipatory tizzy. For the 15th year in a row, The Power Plant’s annual fundraiser has managed to maintain “art party of the year” status and this year is sure to be no different. As such, you can imagine the importance placed on wardrobing. If you’re going to this year’s event and still don’t know what to wear, we turned to 9 of the city’s most stylish (plus 3 FASHION editors!) for clues as to what they are wearing. Last year I wore more glitter than I ever did during the ‘90s and this year it’s going to be all about neon and pastel brights. My dress has hits of yellow, royal blue, turquoise and purple in it and my eyes, cheeks and lips will too. Think the beauty look from Dior Spring 2013—that’s what I’m going for.”

Power Ball is always a good occasion to conduct experiments in looking stylishly serious, or seriously ridiculous. And that’s pretty much my vibe 24/7. I recently uncovered an old pair of white denim jeans that I painted with an artist I could have loved two lives ago. They were supposed to look like something Roberto Cavalli once did, so I’ll probably wear those. And then something that shows chest hair. Always.”
“I’m going along with my spring/summer motto of ‘what would Donna Martin do?’ and wearing a vintage Victoria’s Secret slip dress circa 1995. It’s super revealing, which I hope doesn’t lead to Janet Jackson-style slip-ups.“

“The Power Ball is the perfect opportunity to be playful with my style, so this year I’m most likely going to be wearing a BCBG runway dress that is unlike any dress I’ve ever worn. It’s champagne-coloured and nice and light, perfect for the summer. It billows out on both sides and the back has a T-strap. For me, getting dressed for events is more about the uniqueness of the dress and less about the fit. I go by the mentality that if I feel good in it, the dress looks better, as opposed to picking out a perfectly fitted dress showing off certain areas.”
