Since the launch of her blog, Song of Style, back in 2008, Los Angeles-based blogger Aimee Song has become one of the blogosphere’s most beloved. With her penchant for bright colour combos, positivity and long flowing locks, she’s built an empire of page views, Instagram likes and Facebook fans. She’s turned all that into several collaborations with brands like Michael Kors, 7 for all Mankind and now Canadian eCommerce site, eLuxe. The 6-piece capsule collection ($45-$75, eluxe.ca) features logo T-shirts and distressed sweatshirts all emblazoned with “Do Epic Chic” and “VoiLÁ.” “I’m always about positive sayings,” she says. “I always feel like if you’re positive in the morning, you wake up saying ‘Oh my gosh, today is going to be a great day,’ then, everything is gonna be great! And I thought if I was going to do ‘chic’ then I’m going to make it epic, so why not, ‘Do Epic Chic’?”

While Song was in town last week (wearing the new Chanel chain link booties, we might add), we sifted through her Michael Kors bag and found plenty of the bloggers go-to items. They were all epically chic.

I did a collaboration with Michael Kors in Tokyo, and that was a gift from the brand. Actually, the funny thing is that I love colour so much that I don’t have any black bag. That’s my very first black bag, which I think is so crazy.

I always have extra jewellery in my bag because depending on my mood, I always switch it out. Sometimes it’s just nice to have extra because you never know. For example if I was going to go out tonight, I’d switch up my jewellery to make it more feminine and blingy.

I have a cell phone charger because I’m always on my cell phone and my battery is always dead. I recently got this really cool Samsung camera, it’s actually a cell phone and a camera and it zooms like crazy, so it takes the best photos ever, like better than the iPhone photos. But I didn’t have time to go get a new SIM card, which is why I still have my iPhone for phone calls and checking emails, and then I take photos with the Samsung camera phone.

Mouthwash is very important to me because you never want to have bad breath. Aquaphor is like this ointment thing, I have really dry skin especially because I travel so much, like in the plane, my skin dries out like crazy, it’s like Vaseline it’s like this greasy ointment but it’s super moisturizing. Contact solution because I wear contacts and I’m always on a plane.

Actually those two lipstick are not the two I normally wear. I always wear my YSL lipstick, but yesterday I had a shoot and I left the hotel in a rush, so I just grabbed random lipstick. From NARS, that’s a lip pencil that is surprisingly moisturizing. Then the Bobbi Brown. I usually wear two YSL lipsticks to make one colour.

This makeup case is a little case that I got from Korean Air when I was flying. It’s so small and compact that it holds my must-have makeup.

I was just in Japan and Korea like a week and a half ago, so I guess I still have that, I didn’t realize I still had the currency. “Lint roller, because I have two dogs, so I’m always covered in dog hair.
