As Black Friday has officially been adopted into Canadian culture, we no longer have to make those stressful cross-boarder treks just to participate in the joy of savings. Especially as the holiday season is fast-approaching, it is vital to our existence that our favourite Canadian (and American) retailers offer the best possible deals and steals so we can breathe a little easier this holiday gift shopping season.
Taking place this year on November 28th—marking the start of the Christmas season—Black Friday 2014 will offer lower prices, special giveaways, extended hours, and even a few shopping perks like hot cocoa and treats to make your spending ventures a little more enjoyable. As such, we’ve sussed out all the best deals, services and offerings available both before and during Black Friday 2014. For those of you who choose to shop from the safety of your couch behind a computer screen, we’ve also included the top deals for Cyber Monday (hey, no judgement here!).
In lieu of the holiday sale event, M.A.C cosmetics is keeping tradition (last year they presented a limited edition lipstick shade in black) by offering an exclusive eyeshadow trio called “Smoky Black Friday,” perfect for a nighttime look and available the day of online only at maccosmetics.com. Also following suit is Old Navy with their Overnight Millionaire event where one lucky customer will win a million dollars (you can even see where last year’s overnight millionaire is now).

For a span of five days, beginning November 26th, Aritzia is marking down all women’s merchandise up to 60% off, available both online and in stores.

Beginning this Thursday November 27, shoppers can enjoy up to 40 percent off select fall merchandise at Holt Renfrew for their Paint it Black event. Extended hours will also be offered, with the majority of locations across Canada open from 7am-10pm on the Thursday and Friday. Kicking off Black Friday a little early this year, Michaal Kors has up to 50 percent off clothing, accessories and handbags in stores and online. Check out their holiday gift guide for a little inspiration.

The week of November 24th through till the 30th, Frye.com is offering $100 off for every $400 you spend. Now is definitely the time to stock up on boots!

Beginning now until December 30th, Aerie is giving shoppers 40 percent off their entire purchase online and in stores. Be sure to stock up PJ pants as they are also offering a buy one get one free promotion until December 30th.

Now through till Sunday, Gap Factory is offering 50-75% off all merchandise. Shoppers can also save an extra 20 percent off their purchase of $75 or more on Thursday, November 27th and save 15 percent off their purchase of $75 or more on Black Friday. Shop early to save more!
Old Navy
Once again Old Navy is running their Overnight Millionaire event. The first 100 customers to line up prior to doors opening on Black Friday will receive a game card to enter to win the million dollars. To play, participants must be 18 or older.
