See Ashley Madekwe’s full Reebok Classic x FACE Stockholm campaign (+ 9 fun facts about the Revenge star)
Anyone who watched Revenge knows that Ashley Davenport might have been a social climber but she also had killer style (hello, Lanvin and Alaïa). Lucky for Ashley Madekwe, who played Davenport in the series, the latter wasn’t much of a stretch for the 31-year-old Brit actress, as she routinely flexes her sartorial muscle on red carpets and on her style blog, Ring My Bell.
We caught up with Madekwe to talk about her recent collaboration with Reebok and cult cosmetics brand FACE Stockholm (#ReebokClassicxFaceStockholm). Available at select retailers worldwide and on reebok.com starting July 1st, the limited edition collection features the brand’s classic styles (Freestyle Hi, Classic Leather and Princess Spirit) with a bright, bold update thanks to FACE Stockholm’s palette of shimmering metallics, colour-block pastels and noir brushstroke designs that mirror mascara. Madekwe’s love of sneakers and street style make her the ideal choice for this starring role. 1. Her first acting gig was at 16.
“It was a film called Storm Damage for BBC. My mom didn’t want me to work until I was old enough not to have a chaperone.”
2. She just celebrated her third wedding anniversary with husband (and Salem co-star) Iddo Goldberg.
“We’re good friends, we really enjoy each other. I think that’s important—and talking! Communication is key.”
3. She has a style blog called Ring My Bell.
“I do a little bit of beauty, like what’s in my bag right now and what I’m using for skincare, but usually I just keep people up to date with what I’m wearing.”
4. A strong red lip is her beauty signature.
“It’s my favourite thing to do to amp up a look. FACE Stockholm has a great shade called Express—it’s matte but doesn’t dry out your lips at all.”
5. She is a serious sneakerhead.
“I used to work in a sneaker shop called Offspring on Carnaby Street in London for a couple of years. I was one of the only girls working there. I know how to style my sneakers because of that.”
6. She loves to rock an LBD with her trainers.
“I think we all love to be comfortable, secretly. I wore a little black dress and Reebok white classics at The Reebok Classic x FACE Stockholm launch event and I was so comfortable all night.”
7. She’s embraced the L.A. lifestyle.
“I love to go hiking and I love doing Pilates. Now when I’m traveling I do Ballet Beautiful workout videos in my hotel room. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve gotten more athletic.”
8. Daniel Day Lewis is her dream co-star.
“He would be the ultimate. Everybody is on their A-game when he’s on set.”
9. She is a theatre geek at heart.
“It’s been a while since I’ve been on stage so I’d love to do a play next. I’d love to play Lady Macbeth—I don’t know what that says about me.”
