Topshop goes way back with an archive collection of its own ’70s, ’80s and ’90s pieces

Fashion has been experiencing a serious case of nostalgia of late, with designers throwing back to everyone from Cher to Cher Horowitz on the runways this season. While psychedelic prints prevail at House of Holland, Emilio Pucci and Jeremy Scott‘s Spring 2015 shows, a fondness for ’90s is still going strong at Calvin Klein and Marques Almeida.

Topshop will be continuing the nostalgic trend, delving into its own back pages to offer affordable fashion pieces from the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s. Inspired by the brand’s original designs, Topshop Archive will feature a collection of 33 limited edition pieces reissued from a vast collection of irreverently cool British pieces. Classic ’70s smock dresses return for lazy summer days, prom gowns bring back the ‘80s, while a ‘90s lurex halter dress and maxi rave coat complete a collection of cult classics reborn for a new generation.

Ironically enough, Topshop Archive will combine our generation’s love of vintage clothes and modern technology with the collection’s social campaign, #BringThatBack, encouraging shoppers to post images across social media of their most-loved Topshop pieces for the chance to, you know, bring them back.

The collection ranges from $40 to $140 CAD and will be available globally on July 23rd 2015 and in Canada at Topshop at Hudson’s Bay Yorkdale and Vancouver Downtown stores.
