When I spotted this dress I instantly fell in love with its scalloped lace neckline, and knew I had to have it. I don’t typically wear dresses this tight or short for that matter, but with the last leg of my 20s approaching I figure it’s now or never. I’m hosting a party at my place, and so I’m looking forward to ringing in the New Year with all my favorite people.

I will be ringing in 2016 with my favourite people, celebrating in cozy style at a house party. There’s no need to get super fancy when you’re hanging with your best pals, but on this special night, it’s nice to add a bit of glam and sparkle. This oversized cardigan has a metallic fringe which is fun to wear, and beyond comfortable, while adding that festive touch I was looking for. Hope you have a fun and safe New Year celebration!

On NYE I am going to wear my Club Monaco black pleated midi skirt with this cropped Design Lab embroidered top. To add an extra layer for warmth I am going to finish the look with this cream coloured cashmere cardigan from Club Monaco. I love this crop top from Design Lab because it has such a vintage look to it and my black loafers and glitter socks add to the look creating a 1950s inspired look.

A little sparkle or fringe is never out of place during the holidays. It’s all about those pieces with a little bit of shine!

For NYE I love to play with vintage pieces and retro silhouettes! This year I went with a embellished fit and flare dress, with cutouts (one of my fave details!) and tossed a fur jacket on top! I love this dress, because it takes care of the bling, and styled with this jacket has just enough drama for the evening!

Jameela Ghann, 25

I spend New Year’s Eve doing activities with the kids, having dinner with friends, and ringing in the New Year with my extended family. I recently gave birth to a little girl, so this is the perfect “new mom” outfit. The black pencil skirt easily transitions from home to dinner then to a movie. The flowing crop top adds great colour and makes breastfeeding or pumping very easy!

A few accessories really bring the look together. The recycled brass necklace signifies “new beginnings” which is fitting for this holiday. The bright green cross-body is a great alternative to a bulky diaper bag and it adds some more color which I love. Now that I am not pregnant I can finally wear heels, so camel coloured booties and tights are perfect for the mild winter weather we are having.

I think this New Year’s outfit is a testament to the fact that just because you have a newborn (and toddler) doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the holidays fashionably!

As I get older, New Year’s Eve is becoming more and more family-centred, and we all know that family means comfort and casual. Therefore, I’ve been ditching going all out in sparkly dresses and killer heels for several years now but I’m still keeping a little bit of fun in my toned-down New Year’s Eve fashion. This year, my golden colour faux fur snood, bright blue sequence purse and head-to-toe in stripes assemble will still make people look at me and think, ‘oh yeah, that girl is excited for 2016 and so ready to celebrate.’ I am so ready for 2016. Happy New Year everyone!
