Pre-show Q&A: Halifax’s Katrina Tuttle

Halifax designer Katrina Tuttle is set to put on her second show on the Toronto Fashion Week runway on Wednesday evening. (See her Spring 2010 collection.) She talks champagne and Sarah Jessica Parker in our pre-show Q&A.

Describe the inspiration for your fall collection in 5 words or less. “The world from a distance.”

A personal favourite piece in your fall collection. Why that one? “There is one black wool crepe dress that is so me. It has a great silhouette, it’s versatile and a little bit edgy.”

Which celebrity would you most want to see in your clothes and why? “Sarah Jessica Parker–she has a true appreciation for fashion and is always immaculately dressed.”

What’s your post-show ritual? “Celebrating with a bottle of champagne!”

This season is your second showing at Toronto Fashion Week. What made you come back? “It’s a great place for a Canadian designer to showcase her collection and gain brand awareness and media exposure.”
