While so many Parisians take the weekend to enjoy a quiet cafe et croissant, fashion week picks up the pace, with major designers like Céline, Givenchy and Kenzo showing their Spring 2015 collections to packed houses of editors, street stylers and celebrities alike. A surprise Kanye West performance at accessories designer Pierre Hardy‘s disco ball bash, a glittering confetti cascade at Jean Paul Gaultier‘s ready to wear finale and David Koma‘s debut collection at Mugler kept the fashion beat buzzing too. As a quick Monday morning cheat sheet, here are our 5 favourite looks from the weekend at Paris Fashion Week:

Dior, look 50

Raf Simons‘ massive mirrored tent (which reflected the Louvre courtyard) perfectly blended the future with the past. His long, sleeveless court coat when paired with Bermuda shorts had the same effect.  Watch for bright tangerine to be a hot hue come spring.

Givenchy, look 11

Graphic black and white is already shaping up to be a big trend in Paris, but Givenchy’s thick stripes sealed the deal. Worn with a thigh grazing, laced leather boot, we know Kim Kardashian (who was sitting front row) was taking notes.

Céline, look 4

Designer Phoebe Philo can do no wrong. Her strikingly minimal, but playful white fringed dress will be on every editor’s shopping list this season. While we’re at it, we should also add her structured clutches and gold circle hairpins too.

Akris, look 47

Head-to-toe white is trending. The key to this look is texture. The layered pieces lend structure but airiness at the same time. Extra points for the cropped wide culotte, which has been all over both the runways and streets this season.

Jean Paul Gaultier, finale

It’s hard to believe JPG has retired from ready to wear, but he certainly knows how to go out with a bang. Staged as a Miss Spring 15 pageant, his show at The Rex Theatre included a choreographed dance and blast of golden glitter. It was a moment in fashion history.
