Laid-back style prevails, even at London Fashion Week

Remember the now-passé concept of dressing for fashion rather than comfort? Today, Stan Smiths are just as present in the fashion week circuit than razor-sharp stilettos (if not more so). Will we look back one day and wonder what we were thinking wearing sneakers to the front row? Or have white rubber soles paved the way for a cooler, more comfortable chapter of fashion? The move toward flats on the runway isn’t new, but now even the likes of Christopher Kane are showing running shoes in Spring 2016 collections. Of course, half of the industry elite in the audience were wearing flats—a faux pas once upon a time. Even J.W. Anderson did his version of a modern-day tracksuit.
