While the fashion flock takes a rest during a rare lull between Fall 2014 shows, we fix our eyes back on home turf. In this batch of shots from the city’s downtown core, photographer Jenna Marie Wakani captures Toronto’s most stylish braving the worst winter on record in bundled up layers.

We spot Olympic-worthy accents on traditional black staples like pea coats and parkas as well as geometric prints. Unconventional outerwear is evident in a chic mustard wrap and a purple cinched waistcoat sported by two daring street goers. And even without fashion week, Chanel proves the accessory of choice for one shopper snapped wearing a Boy chain shoulder bag on Bloor Street.

And love it or hate it, leave to Canadians to pull out the fur when temperatures drop, captured here on coats, throws, scarves and more.
