Five decades of Mr. V’s illustrations, editorial shoots and Hollywood glamour are updated with writings by Suzy Menkes and interviews by Matt Tyrnauer, who was behind this year’s documentary, Valentino: The Last Emperor. At $1,700 for the Art Edition, it’ll gild the retired maestro’s nest egg nicely. (The less collectible version is $80.) Shoe princesses, escape to a time before Louboutin with Beth Levine Shoes (Abrams, $39). From the ’40s to the ’70s, America’s “First Lady of shoe design” kept the well-heeled, and many a presidential wife, happy with her playful, spectacular creations.
