Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about getting a tattoo, especially since former fashion designer Lydia Klenck moved to town and traded in her sewing machine for a tattoo needle. I’m a huge fan of her Frida Kahlo style, but not so much a fan of pain. So until I work up the courage, I’ll just wear my new skull and wing necklace from Halifax designer Kyla Francis (kylafrancis.com). Inspired by hood ornaments and trophies, Francis uses slipcast porcelain to create these little gems. Part vintage car, part rock ’n’ roll, this is a necklace with attitude.
