While we expected Kate would opt for a British designer for Trooping the Colour (the annual parade that celebrates the Queen’s birthday), we were more than happily surprised to see her dressed in Canadian designer Erdem for the big day. This isn’t the first time Kate’s worn Erdem either: during the royal couple’s Canadian tour, she wore the designer twice.
Kate’s embroidered pearl-grey sheath by Erdem, dove grey Alexander McQueen clutch and matching topper by British milliner Jane Corbett kept her looking elegantly chic (typical!) during her carriage ride with Camilla and Prince Harry despite the blustery winds. In true Kate style, she included at least one recycled item in her look: her sterling silver earrings by Links of London made their second consecutive appearance for the parade, having first been worn the night before.
As for the birthday girl herself, Queen Elizabeth II looked perfectly put-together in the same primrose Angela Kelly number she wore for Kate and William’s wedding.
