Fall is in full swing here at FASHION and although the abrupt temperature drop was quite harsh there’s not much to do but embrace this glorious autumn weather. Tomorrow’s Dundas West Sidewalk Sale is the perfect opportunity to don that favourite knit of yours you’ve been itching to throw on all summer. For those of us who weren’t able to score tickets to the sold-out Grimes shows, it’s not the end of the world (we’d like to think). A generous amount of live music will be in store this weekend at POP Montreal and Vancouver’s Olio Festival.

POP Montreal

Well into its 10th year, the annual 5-day POP Montreal festival is back, and with a killer line-up may we add. Among the slew of shows and exhibitions – a total of more than 570 bands and artists – includes Gotye taking the stage at Metropolis this evening and Grizzly Bear, whose much-anticipated album Shields was released earlier this week, Sunday night at L’Olympia.

Dundas West Sidewalk Sale

Vintage boutiques Dalston Grey and Magwood have teamed up to host the Dundas West Sidewalk Sale, spanning from Lansdowne to Shaw, this Saturday. With more than fifty boutiques, restaurants and cafés setting up shop outdoors, you’ll want to get their bright and early for exclusive one-day-only specials, homemade treats and perhaps that vintage Dries skirt you’ve been eyeing.

This weekend The Heart and Stroke Foundation presents The Heart Truth Fashion Show in Calgary. Stop by to witness local personalities and celebs as they don couture gowns in scarlet, crimson and ruby reds down a runway to help raise awareness for the cause.

Mark Lewis Man

New to the Daniel Faria Gallery is the unveiling of Canadian-born, London-based filmmaker, Mark Lewis’ latest project. Entitled Man, the exhibit – which is comprised of four separate films – explores contemporary city life through the filmmaker’s perspective.
