Welcome back, Kate! The Duchess of Cambridge makes her first appearances since announcing her pregnancy

She’s back! In her first appearances since announcing her second pregnancy, the Duchess of Cambridge was on hand today to welcome the President of Singapore to the UK as well as at the Natural History Museum where she helped announce the winners in the Museum’s annual Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. Today marks Kate’s first appearances in over two months, which means she’s recovered, at least for now, from the acute morning sickness that has rocked both of her pregnancies. Yay.
The Duchess greeted Singaporean president Tony Tan Keng Yam and his wife, first at Horse Guards parade with Queen Elizabeth (carriage procession and all!) then back at the couple’s hotel, where she and Prince William engaged in a brief meet-cute. After the president commented on how close the hotel was to the Duke and Duchess’s home at Kensington Palace, Prince William joked “You can probably see into our bedroom window which is a bit worrying—I wouldn’t look too closely.” Now that’s some Prince Harry style humour.
The Duchess wore a bespoke grey Alexander McQueen coatdress for the occasion, which even with its slim style, showcases nary a baby bump. She paired the dress with the bespoke Jane Taylor hat previously spotted during the Royal tour of Australia earlier this year. Kate carried a new bag, Jenny Packham’s Roxy clutch in addition to her black suede Prada pumps.
Later in the day, Kate was on hand at London’s Natural History Museum to announce winners in the Museum’s annual Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition alongside Sir David Attenborough. She wore a beautiful pale blue Jenny Packham long-sleeved dress, which she paired with cream-coloured LK Bennett sandals and a pink snakeskin Alexander McQueen clutch. We’re looking forward to many more appearances from the Duchess, and of course, her growing bump!
