Let’s be real: there is no better cure for a TIFF party-induced hangover than sipping a few mimosas on the sixth floor terrace of festival hub, TIFF Bell Lightbox. The TIFF Rising Stars inaugural brunch, co-presented by the Casting Society of America, was heavy on industry bigwigs (read: Cameron Bailey). Chat centered around everyone’s favourite flicks, which was great until asked how many movies we’d been to (answer: zero, but parties…well, parties we’ve got under control).

Sarah Gadon and Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany (both Rising Star alums) were all giggles in a corner, while a bespectacled Sandra Oh was seen chatting with friends.

Let’s just take a second to discuss the former Dr. Christina Yang’s hair; Oh had a head of perfectly bouncy, frizz-free curls that would make even Felicity totally jealous.

Of course, the belles (and beaus) of the ball, this year’s Rising Stars, were there too. Making the rounds were Alexandre Landry, Julia Sarah Stone, Shannon Kook, and the much-hyped-about Sophie Desmerais (of the Cannes’ flick Sarah Prefers to Run), who several PR girls likened to Audrey Hepburn.
