Michael Kors knows how to throw a party. He hosted a pretty high-wattage one last night at a private residence in Beverly Hills for the launch of Clairborne Swanson Frank’s new coffee table tome Young Hollywood, which features portraits of 60 women—from Imogen Poots and Amber Heard, to Ireland Baldwin and Nina Dobrev—on the cusp of fame, or well on their way.

Before an al fresco sit-down dinner of steak frites, guests like Rachel Zoe and Aubrey Plaza took in the twinkly views of Los Angeles. Harley Viera-Newton manned the DJ station and Kiernan Shipka hammed it up in the photo booth, while a cluster of men in suits squinted to read their place cards in the candlelight, hoping they had scored a seat next to the book’s gorgeous cover model, Isabel Lucas.
During dessert, Zoë Kravitz and her electro-pop band Lolawolf performed, as a drone hovered above, snapping pictures. “Thanks, Mom,” Kravitz joked when she heard a lone guest clapping. (Her mom Lisa Bonet was indeed there to cheer her on.) As guests left, Hailee Steinfeld lingered to take “one last selfie” in front of the step and repeat area before  heading home.
