Golden Globes 2016: The red carpet’s 44 best dressed celebrities
Remember when everyone was like, “the new trend is no trend!” and you nodded and agreed while silently waiting for a night like Golden Globes 2016 to return to red carpet reporting? Tonight’s bevvy of looks read like guides for how to make it this season, from white dresses to deep Vs—they’re all there for the studying! In no particular order, we present:
White was the non-colour du jour, with everyone from Saoirse Ronan to Taraji P. Henson (and her cookies) opting for it head-to-toe. Double nominee Alicia Vikander cemented her red carpet darling status, wearing a shimmering ruffled Louis Vuitton white gown. Meanwhile Jane Fonda continued on slaying in white Saint Laurent.
Deep Vs made it big on Sophia Bush, Zendaya and Katy Perry, who served up major Valley of the Dolls in her blush pink Prada dress and with her sixties-worthy bouffant.
Metallics (especially those with cutouts) seemed to egg on the night’s biggest moments, with Golden Globe winner Brie Larson dressing for the occasion in a solid gold Calvin Klein dress. Kate Hudson proved herself continuously flawless in a light pink shimmering sliced dress by Michael Kors.
And then there were the classics like Cate Blanchett, whose pale pink Givenchy stunner requires no filing system whatsoever.
