editorial review
Basia’s owner and namesake was producing jewellery long before she opened her Annex womenswear shop. Today, her pieces attract the attention of the Metropolitan Opera in New York, as well as many U.S. shops. She’s a mixed-materials kind of gal, uniting mesh with mother-of-pearl for a lovely lariat necklace. Her approach to scarves is similar; the selection from Amet & Ladoue is handwoven, combining velvet or other fabrics with beading. Don’t expect to recognize all the accessories labels, like Gnerre (for gloves) and Petrusse (for scarves); simply appreciate the quality. And Faliero Sarti’s wool- and-silk wrap is incomparably soft.
