Colette Harmon > editorial review
Until last December, Colette Harmon’s bijoux could be found only at Holt Renfrew and fine clothing retailers. The arrival of this Guyana-born beauty’s own boutique (and workshop at the back) confirms that her collection requires its own space to shine. But instead of dazzling solely with opulent stones, Harmon collects a unique assemblage of chain mail, charms, crocheted metal and other lovely things to create her pieces. Whether it’s pendants of agate or whimsical pastel flowers that drape from strands of pewter or antique-finish brass plate, her necklaces guarantee a broad spectrum of loyal clients. Bibs may be a mainstay, but other lariat-type pieces can double as belts or bracelets.
