Vancouver got the Olympics; Toronto got Jonathan + Olivia. We win! But seriously, let’s hope the West Coast forgives the East for swiping its greatest retail hit. Jonathan + Olivia shut its VanCity doors last year, then expanded its open-concept » Ossington Avenue shop (est. 2008) to include Canada’s first-and-only Topshop outpost (look for the Kate Moss collection in November). Mainstays remain upscale and super-contemporary: Isabel Marant, Alexander Wang (just in: handbags!), the Rick Owens diffusion line Drkshdw, and sundry yet invariably cool Scandinavian labels. Get glam, tough, or both with Pamela Love or Sabrina Dehoff jewellery.
