Nine locations across Canada.
Designer Wear
Unless you’ve been lost at sea (and even then, that’s hardly an excuse), you’ll know that Marc Jacobs has done it again—he’s turned fashion on its head by reinventing the silhouette of current women’s clothing. For fall, he showed full circle skirts (petticoats and all) with teensy waists that accentuate the hips, fitted jackets with classic fur buttons, and scooped necklines that can’t help but draw attention to the bosom.
Torontonians are still the luckiest in Canada when it comes to Louis Vuitton— the ready-to-wear collection is only displayed here, so be sure to request a catalogue at other locations if you like the Marc Jacobs-designed collections for the luxury house. Pay attention to shapes this season, and pick up a pair of ballooning pants (though the more hippy among us should avoid this look). Wear them with a sharp-shouldered, short-sleeve blouse, then top off your ensemble with an asymmetrical-hem jacket with a standing collar. Oh, and remember to keep colours muted by sticking with brown, light blue, cream and black.
Shoes, Boots & Bags
Last season, it was all about Madonna’s Spicy shoe; this season, Maestro Jacobs was inspired by the French muses of the late ’80s. Special-order those thigh-high lace-up boots or any shoe with the hourglass-shaped, pearl- and glitter-covered heel. If you have any cash left, splurge on a purse with a bright ruffled trim.
