After owner Surinder Bains-Kassour visited a North African-influenced spa while living in Paris, she was hooked. As a result, she brought the experience home to Vancouver, opening the first spa of its kind in Canada. Each treatment begins with the hammam, which involves lounging on Jerusalem marble while breathing in aromatic steam, and gommage, a full-body exfoliation using Moroccan black-olive soap. The Orientale Massage ($109) completes the urban escape.
